Song: L.U.V. by Charlie Pluth
About the Music: Charlie Puth is a young YouTuber who was introduced to me by my brother. Mostly he is known for his covers of songs and smooth voice. In fact, in 2011 he was featured on The Ellen Show for his collaborative cover of Adele’s song Someone Like You. It even landed him a spot on Ellens record label, Eleveneleven.
Although he is no longer signed to the label, it hasn’t stopped him from making more videos and producing his own music. I consider him a diamond in the rough – it’s hard to believe at one point he was too shy to sing, which is why he initially took to YouTube. He wanted to do something he loved since he was a little kid without fear of being judged. Since then his confidence and popularity has grown, not to mention the love and support from his fans all over the world.
This is one of my favorites by him and his first official music video, released August 1, 2014.
To me the song is about still loving someone, even after it didn’t work out the first time. You can’t explain it, but you have a sense of hope it could be something amazing if you both just let go of your fears and give each other a real chance, a better chance. I feel like this represents the moment when you’re tired of holding back, you care about the person and want the opportunity to see where it can take you.
